Accommodation
A place to feel at home.
Welcoming places to live, connect and enjoy Namibian experiences.
For a stay of several weeks or months, accommodation is much more than simply having a place to sleep. It becomes your home away from home — a place where you can relax, cook, study, meet other students and feel comfortable in your new surroundings.
Safety is also an important consideration when choosing where to stay in Windhoek. NamIntern works with a number of trusted accommodation partners and offers students a minimum of three suitable options to choose from, taking into account the size of the group, individual preferences, budget, length of stay and location of the internship or programme. We also have other smaller size options like apartments available for smaller groups and individual.
The accommodations listed below are in different parts of the city. Shops and everyday amenities are accessible from each location, although most students choose to use Yango or other taxi services for getting around Windhoek.

Klein Windhoek
Kamatjona
Kamatjona is located in Klein Windhoek, one of Windhoek’s established residential areas, with shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby. It offers a particularly social and practical environment for students sharing accommodation.
The main house has 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms/toilets and 3 kitchens, accommodating up to approximately 15 people. There is also a separate two-bedroom apartment, consisting of a shared room for two, a single room, a bathroom and a kitchen, which can be considered depending on availability and individual needs.
One of the advantages of Kamatjona is the sense of community. Staff members are around who can help students get settled, show them around and, where appropriate, include them in activities and outings. Previous NamIntern students have particularly enjoyed staying here.
Best suited for: students who enjoy a social environment, shared living and being relatively central, as well as groups looking for a practical and welcoming base in Windhoek.

Pioneers Park
Pangolin House
Pangolin House is a spacious self-catering property in Pioneers Park, offering a different type of accommodation experience. Public accommodation information describes the property as a large self-catering home with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, accommodating up to around 14 guests.
The house includes four en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, living area and outdoor space with a swimming pool. The entire house is rented as one unit, making it particularly suitable for a group that would like to live together and have the house to themselves. There is also an additional apartment and outdoor space on the property.
Unlike Kamatjona, there is no on-site staff, and Pioneers Park is somewhat less central than Klein Windhoek. The trade-off is greater privacy and the possibility of having a large house and its facilities exclusively for your group.
Best suited for: larger groups, students who value privacy and independence, or groups who would like to share an entire house and pool.

Eros
Nambiani House
Nambiani House is located in Eros, making it particularly convenient for students whose placements are in that part of Windhoek. It is located close to the Integrate placement site and is also an established option for international students and volunteers.
Nambiani is generally a more expensive option, particularly for students looking for private or smaller rooms. It can nevertheless be attractive for students who prioritise location and enjoy living alongside other international students and volunteers.
Best suited for: students who want to be close to their placement, enjoy an international shared-house environment and are prepared for a higher accommodation budget.
Finding the right fit
There is no single accommodation option that is right for everyone. Some students prefer a lively shared house where they can quickly meet people, while others value privacy, independence or being particularly close to their placement.
NamIntern will help you compare the available options before you arrive and recommend the accommodation that best fits your group size, budget, programme location and personal preferences. Availability and prices can change, so the final accommodation options and rates will always be confirmed with you before booking.
